Participate in Virtual Advocacy Week, it's as easy as following these steps:

Step 1:
Register for Virtual Advocacy Week (if you haven't already). We ask that everybody register for this free event so we know who is participating and can provide the resources you need to advocate.
Step 2:
Watch the Kick-off Webinar. The webinar will provide an update on our priority topics, tips for advocating virtually and we will have time to answer any questions you may have.

Step 3:
Download the materials. We have provided everything you need to advocate including:
  • Legislator Look-up (please remember we are only reaching out to our state Senator and state Representative, Congressional leaders will be part of the Virtual Leadership Day with National ACP) If you have issues with the look-up system or emailing your leaders, please email Missouri ACP.
  • Sample email message (can also be used as talking points if you choose to call your legislators).
  • Tips on how to advocate.
  • Handouts to download and include with your emails, or send in a follow-up email after you talk with your legislators.
    • Medicaid Expansion
    • Local Health Departments
    • Missouri ACP: Who We Are
Step 4:
Review and personalize the materials. Now that you have downloaded the materials, please read through them. The email template provided can serve as the concept for your email, but please be sure to personalize it before emailing it. All items marked in red will need to be changed to reflect who you are and what stage you are in your career. We also strongly encourage you to include a personal story as that will make a bigger impact on those reading the message.

If you are reaching out by phone, please use the email template as talking points, but again, include a personal story.

Step 5:
Find your legislators. Click the button below to find your legislators and their contact information. If you have issues with the Legislator Look-Up tool, please contact ACP's Executive Director at acpmissouri@gmail.com. (Please remember we are only reaching out to our state Senator and state Representative, Congressional leaders will be part of the Virtual Leadership Day with National ACP) If you have issues with the look-up system or emailing your leaders, please email Missouri ACP.

Step 6:
Take Action! Now is the time to send those emails, or make those phone calls. It really is that easy!
Step 7:
Report in! Let us know how your outreach went and if you received a response from your legislator. We have created a simple form for you to complete.
