Mentorship Program for Hospitalists
The Missouri ACP Hospitalist Program has developed a mentorship program to be a resource for hospitalists in all stages of their career, as well as residents and students interested in hospitalist careers. The mentorship program is based on your individual needs, and can be as long (or brief) as you'd like. The individuals listed below have volunteered to serve as mentors and have provided biographies so you can select the individual(s) that will best fit your needs.
Please complete the form at the bottom of the page and we will connect you with the mentor(s) of your choice via your preferred method of contact.
If you would like to be a mentor, please email Sarah Luebbert, Executive Director, at [email protected].

Mentors
Aaron Schenone, DO
My name is Aaron Schenone. I’m an early career physician who graduated from Saint Louis University Internal Medicine Residency in 2017. I started my career as an independent hospitalist, in a moderate sized community hospital called St. Clare located in Fenton, Missouri just outside St. Louis. More recently I have joined Mercy where I am currently working at Mercy Jefferson in Crystal City, Missouri as a Nocturnist. My wife Tiffanie and I are happy parents of two, our daughter Hanna and our son Hunter. We enjoy spending time with our children and family. As an early career physician, with a young family I’ve experienced some of the struggles dedicating time both to my career as a physician and to my family. I also serve in the Missouri Army National Guard as a Physician in the 206th Missouri Medical Company Area Support Group which requires travel and time away from home. I would be happy to share my experiences transitioning from residency to independent practice, the employed physician model, starting a business, independent contractor models, first contract negotiations, student loans, malpractice policies, retirement planning or any other subject you would like to discuss that you feel of interest. It’s my hope to both share as well as learn from others experiences in order to build a stronger, happier and healthier physician community where we can thrive long into our future careers in medicine.
Sangeeta Jain Roberts, MD
I have been working as a hospitalist since 2009 and have mentored new physicians, NPs and medical students. I have been an internist for more than 25 years. I have worked in a multi-specialty group practice as an internist and women’s health specialist; medical director for a large corporation where I learned about occupational medicine; medical director for student health clinic at local university; volunteer physician at free medical clinics; volunteer physician with medical mission trips and currently hospitalist as independent contractor. I have also experienced the dreaded physician burnout which taught me many valuable life lessons. As a spouse of another physician and mother of 2 children, I learned a lot about the challenges of work-life balance. I would be happy to share my knowledge and experiences with others who have questions about career options for internists; career transitions; work-life balance for women physicians; independent contractor; retirement planning.
