Nominations Open for Missouri ACP Governor's Council
Deadline to submit a nomination is October 15, 2021. Term begins on January 1, 2022.

The Missouri Chapter of the American College of Physicians is seeking nominations for members of the Governor's Council. Councilors are elected by a vote of the Chapter and serve a three-year term for up to two consecutive terms. The responsibilities of the Council include:
- Council members are elected for a 3-year term with a maximum of two consecutive terms. A one-year break is required before a Council member can run again.
- Manage the business affairs of the Chapter
- Ensure the Chapter abides by the bylaws
- Assists the Governor in leadership roles/responsibilities including being active on chapter committees
- Represent ACP members in your area when attending Council meetings and the Annual Chapter Scientific Meeting
- Expectation that all council members participate in the semi-annual council meeting and the annual Chapter Scientific Meeting.
- Establish strategic plan and annual goals and objectives and participate in a committee to help implement these.
- Determine association policy
- Allocate resources through the budget
- Promote the organization
- Keep diversity, equity and inclusion top of mind as we make decisions, both on a council and committee level.
- Understand the mission statement, bylaws, and strategic plan
- Prepare for meetings by reviewing the agenda and supporting documents
- Recruit future leaders to help govern the organization
- Stay current on issues and trends impacting the organization and the membership
- Volunteer for committees
- Readily communicate with staff for needed information and assistance
