SPEAKER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Suggested Formatting for all PowerPoint Presentations
  • Please maintain a minimum font size at least 20 (includes text in figures, tables, and graphics).
  • Please include only figures large enough for the entire audience of 200 people to see.
  • Please emphasize more pictures / graphs on slides, and avoid dense text. Explanatory text can be placed in presenter notes to guide the speaker.
  • Please include relevant potential conflict-of-interest disclosures.
 
LECTURE Guidance:
  • We suggest each presentation include:
    • Three to four learning objectives that indicate the knowledge or behavior the audience member should be able to demonstrate at the end of the talk.
    • At least one clinical case that is introduced near the beginning of the talk and re-visited near the end.
    • At least two questions posed to the audience, with audience responses given via POLL EVERYWHERE.
      • Please email acpmissouri@gmail.com regarding POLL EVERYWHERE questions.
 
DEBATE Guidance:
  • Two speakers will engage in each debate session.
  • We request each speaker prepare:    
    • 15-minute opening statement, with use of PowerPoint slides
    • 3 prepared questions to pose to the other debater
    • 5-minute closing statement
    • To answer questions from the debate partner, moderator and audience
 
PANEL DISCUSSION Guidance:
  • Three speakers will participate in the panel discussion.
  • We request each speaker prepare:    
    • 15-minute opening statement, with use of PowerPoint slides
    • 2 total prepared questions (1 prepared question to pose to the each of the other two presenters)
    • 5-minute closing statement
    • To answer questions from the moderator and from the audience
 
Debate/Panel Discussion MODERATOR Guidance:
  • Please prepare 3 questions for each session participant.
  • Note: 2 participants per debate session; 3 participants per panel discussion
